Suppose you’re looking for a great place to take your family for some summer fun; look no further than Jellystone Park in Larkspur, Colorado. This park has it all – from full hookup RV sites and vacation rentals, to swimming and games to putt-putt and dining, there’s something for everyone. And the best part is that it’s affordable too!

We recently visited Jellystone Park Larkspur and had a blast. Here are my thoughts.

For a fun-filled family vacation, Jellystone Park in Larkspur, Colorado, is the place for you.

If you’re looking for a place to take the family for some quality time together, look no further than Jellystone Park. However, if you’re looking for a leisurely quiet destination, this probably isn’t it. You might find that in your cabin or your RV spot, but that’s not why most people go here.

This Jellystone Park is located in Larkspur, Colorado, and offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The park is centrally located in Colorado. It is just off of I25 and about halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs. The drive is about an hour from each city, so if you need a break from the hustle and bustle or looking for an amazing Colorado getaway, this is the perfect spot.

There are other Jellystone Parks located throughout the United States, but this is the only one in Colorado. The spectacular scenery that surrounds the Jellystone Park at Larkspur is sure to take your breath away. The stunning natural beauty of this stretch of Colorado is mesmerizing!

Jellystone Parks are known for their camping sites and hookup RV sites, but they also offer cabins for rent. Jellystone Park at Larkspur is no exception. Their upscale cabin rentals are some of the best we’ve seen and their full hookup RV sites are well maintained, level, and ready for you to back on in. They also have plenty of pull thru RV sites as well.. In fact, we stayed in a cabin, which was very comfortable and clean, but more on that later.

There’s something for everyone at Jellystone Park Larkspur.

As I mentioned, we couldn’t take advantage of everything the park had to offer due to time constraints. Still, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a great family vacation spot.

Jellystone Park is the perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time with your loved ones. Whether you’re looking for some wholesome fun with the mini bowling or playing in their arcade alley, there’s an endless amount of fun at Jellystone Park at Larkspur. Here are a few of the things we loved about our stay.

Swimming and sliding!

Huge Waterslide at Jellystone
The park has a couple of pools and one of them has a couple of huge waterslides.

The campground offers two swimming pools and a water slide, which were a hit with the kids. The slides were so big that you could see them as you drove down I25.

I didn’t get to use the slides, but it looked like a lot of fun. The kids spent some time sliding down the massive slides (it’s like a miniature water park!), and they can attest to how much fun it is.

There’s also a hot tub for the adults to relax after a long day of exploring the park. Some kids venture in there as well, but it wasn’t too many. After a long day of hiking and enjoying Rocky Mountain National Park or any other local attractions, the hot tub is definitely the way to go. While each of the vacation rentals did not have a dedicated hot tub, there is a hot tub to enjoy at the pool.

Side note: Rocky Mountain National Park is just a short drive away so if you want to go and see some spectacular scenery on your next Colorado getaway, I highly recommend it for your outdoor enjoyment.

Putt-putt / Mini golf.

Putt-Putt at Jellystone Park in Larkspur
The putt-putt was a lot of fun. Clean and well-maintained.

I’m a geek, so this was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The park has its mini-golf course! It’s a great way to spend an evening or even just an afternoon if you’re looking for some wholesome fun.

The course is set up like an old mining town equipped with raging waterfalls and other unique decors.

My favorite part was the waterfall that you had to putt the ball over. It’s a bit challenging, but it’s so satisfying when you make it over.

The mini golf is just another reason to visit this award winning park with your family. It offers the most activities compared to any of the family campgrounds we have visited over the years.

Dog parks.

One of the best things about Jellystone Park at Larkspur is that it is a pet friendly resort. In fact, all of their sites are pet friendly sites. Given that we have a couple dogs, we’re always on the looking for pet friendly places.

There are two dog parks at Jellystone Park, which is great for all dog owners. The first dog park is a small fenced-in area with some agility equipment.

The second dog park is much larger and has a beautiful view of the mountains. It’s the perfect place to take your four-legged friend for a run.

So for the pet lovers looking for a pet friendly resort for their furry friends, Jellystone Park at Larkspur won’t let you down. They’re extremely pet friendly so bring your pups!

Bar and game room.

If you’re looking to grab a bite to eat and a drink, the campground has a bar and grill. They also have a game room with a pool table and several arcade games.

The kids loved the games in the arcade alley because they could rack up some tickets to redeem for prizes.

There’s also a TV and wifi services in the bar area, so you can catch up on your favorite sports teams while enjoying a meal or a drink.

Or, one of the coolest places at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park is the mini bowling. It was a lot of fun and kept our family in the recreation building until they closed for the night. Sure, it’s not part of an authentic camping experience, but you’ll have a blast.

Golf carts are a lot of fun!

While you’re there, you can bring your own side-by-side or rent one of the many electric golf carts available.

We didn’t have our own, so we rented one for the week, and it was so much fun!

They’re great for getting around the park, especially if you have small children. You’ll get exhausted walking everywhere with them, so the golf cart is a lifesaver.

Don’t worry; there’s plenty of parking for the carts at every facility.

The staff is super friendly and always ready to help.

One of the things that I noticed during our stay was how friendly and helpful the staff was. It’s not too often you encounter such a welcoming staff.

They were always quick to offer assistance, whether it was directions to our campsite or recommendations for activities in the area upon check in.

They ensured we had everything we needed and were enjoying our stay. You can go to the front office any time to ask for help or information. For example, we needed additional supplies such as towels and trash bags. They were quick to provide everything we needed so we didn’t have to wait. It’s seriously some top-notch lodging by any standards.

The upscale cabin rentals and RV site accommodations are top-notch.

There are two ways to stay at Jellystone. You can bring an RV or stay in one of their deluxe cabins (aka vacation rentals).

We decided to splurge and stay in a cabin, and I’m so glad we did. These aren’t just any cabins, they’re upscale cabin rentals. Plus, hauling our camper from Texas to Colorado would’ve been a nightmare.

First off, the gravel pads for parking were level and exceptional. Each vacation rental gets a parking pass and two parking stalls.

The cabin was fully furnished and had all the amenities of home, plus more such as wifi access. There was a full kitchen outfitted with all the utensils and cookware you could need. From the coffee maker to the two buner cooktop, Jellystone Park at Larkspur provides a kitchen equipped with everything you need.

The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. In our cabin, we could sleep up to 8, but there are various sizes to accommodate different group sizes. Our cabin had a queen size bed in the primary bedroom and sleeping loft beds with two twin mattresses in the second bedroom. The main living area had a full size sleeper sofa for additional space. There was a full bathroom and a second bedroom, so the full family can come along.

While our cabin didn’t have a king size bed, there are vacation rentals at Jellystone Park at Larkspur with king size beds.

The bathrooms were clean and also had all of the essentials. It’s everything you would come to expect when you stay at Jellystone Park at Larkspur.

There was a dining area with a dining table and cable TV in the kitchen, but we didn’t spend much time in there. We spent time out on the porch where there were views of the stunning surroundings.

Plus, the cabin had a porch where we could sit and enjoy the fantastic views. It was so peaceful and relaxing. There was a natural gas grill and natural gas firepit for you to use as you wish.

We don’t recall the vacation rental restrictions being overly bearing, so that’s definitely a plus as well.

While you’ll enjoy all of the additional amenities that Jellystone Park at Larkspur has to offer, at some point your trip will come to an end and you’ll have to head on home.

Overall, Jellystone Park at Larkspur was an amazing experience.

While we don’t typically go to commercialized parks, this one has won us over. Most of the time, we enjoy state parks and boondocking but this is an excellent option if you’re looking for something different that offers the perfect combination of relaxation and fun for all ages.

The Jellystone Park in Larkspur is a great place for families or groups of friends. There’s so much to do that you’ll never be bored. The RV sites are amazing with their full hookup RV sites and the wide selection of spacious lodging options and vacation rentals are phenomenal so you know you’ll enjoy an award winning stay at the Jellystone Park at Larkspur. For those looking for ideas outside of Larkspur Jellystone Park, there’s always Rocky Mountain National Park which isn’t far and also has RV sites at various campgrounds.

I highly recommend this family friendly RV resort to anyone looking for a fun and relaxing vacation. There’s no better place to take advantage of the stunning natural beauty of the surroundings and stay in one of their vacation rentals with all of the activities that Jellystone Park at Larkspur has to offer.
