Located between Seguin and New Braunfels, this glamping destination offers a wide variety of activities and amenities for guests to enjoy.

Whether you’re looking to hike, fish, or simply relax in nature, there’s something here for everyone. Plus, you can enjoy all of this with all the conveniences you’d expect from a modern resort.

Enjoy comfortable lodge rooms and treehouse cabins surrounded by lush greenery and stunning views of the countryside. And don’t forget to explore nearby attractions such as Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country where you can find dinosaur footprints dating back millions of years ago!

With so much to do and see in this area, it’s no wonder why Geronimo Creek Retreat has earned its spot as one of Central Texas’ top vacation spots.

We recently stayed at Geronimo Creek Retreat (not to be confused with Son’s Geronimo next door) and we’ve got to say, it was one of the best stays we’ve had in a while. Here are our thoughts on this exclusive glamping resort and we’ve even included Geronimo Creek Retreat photos so you can see what you’re getting into.

Where is Geronimo Creek Retreat?

If you’re ever in south Texas and looking for a retreat, the Geronimo Creek Retreat is the perfect place to go. Located near just north of Seguin and southeast of New Braunfels, the Geronimo Creek Retreat is super easy to find.

Take Texas Highway 123 to Laubach Rd and head east around 1.5 miles, and you’re there. Geronimo Creek Retreat has a big sign on the left so you know when you’re there. Again, this is not to be confused with Sons Geronimo which will be on your right. It’s just across the street (although when we saw it Son’s river ranch looks like a great place to stay, but we’ll save that for another time).

Geronimo Creek Retreat features the best accommodations!

When you first arrive at the Geronimo Creek Retreat your jaw will drop at the lodging. They have some of the most unique and glamorous pads we’ve seen!

Everything from the Getaway Cabin to the Sweet Medicine Treehouse with it’s spiral staircase, you’ll never want to leave the property. Their brand new birdhouse cabins are absolutely delightful!

Homestead Haus

The Homestead Haus is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath house (cabin) that comfortably sleeps up to 8 guests.

It features a full kitchen (with a coffee pot, refrigerator, etc), 2 full baths, a living room, a dining room, WiFi, and smart TVs.

Outdoor amenities such as a fire pit, BBQ pit, hammock, picnic table, and seating are located behind the house by the stocked fishing pond.

Additionally, if you’re bringing the family you’ll enjoy the extra beds. The bedrooms are comprised of a master bedroom with a king bed and private bath, another bedroom bunk beds (full bed on bottom & twin on top), and another bedroom with a queen bed.

Getaway Cabins

The Getaway Cabins at the Geronimo Creek Retreat provide comfortable accommodation for up to 5 guests, with two queen beds & one twin daybed. We stayed in one of these cabins during our stay and absolutely loved it.

They all come fully furnished and temperature controlled, as well as a kitchenette with a microwave, mini refrigerator, coffee pot, electric cooktop, eating and cooking utensils, pots and pans, dinette table, WiFi, and a smart TV.

While each getaway cabin lacks a private bathroom, they do have detached bathrooms that have plenty of privacy.

Teepees

Teepees at Geronimo Creek

The teepees are a unique and magical experience at the Geronimo Creek Retreat.

Each provides comfortable accommodation for up to 6 guests, with all the amenities included. Some of the tipis have three queen-sized beds, while others have two queens and a sleeper sofa.

Fully furnished and temperature controlled, they come equipped with a fully-loaded kitchenette with everything from the coffee maker to a full-size refrigerator, so you don’t have to bring much of anything of your own.

Also, just like the Getaway Cabin, they don’t have private bathrooms, but they do have detached ones that give you privacy.

Treehouses.

For those guests that want an exceptional glamping experience at the Geronimo Creek Retreat, you’ll want to stay in their Creekside Treehouses. They have fun names like Sweet Medicine, Laughing Water, Prairie Flower, and Singing Cloud.

While these are more of a cross between a treehouse and a cabin, you’re going to feel like you’re in a fairytale regardless.

Each treehouse cabin provides comfortable accommodation for up to 8 guests, with a full kitchen, full private bathroom, living room, dining room, WiFi, smart TVs, and a Large Deck. They also come equipped with their own fire pits, BBQ fire pit, hammock, picnic table, and seating down below.

Property amenities at the resort.

Fire Pit at the Treehouse Cabins

From the Getaway Cabin to the Treehouse Cabins, we can all agree that the accommodations at the Geronimo Creek Retreat are nothing less than exceptional.

But how about the amenities?

We’re confident you’ll come for the lodging but stay for the other amenities.

Hot tub for relaxation.

For those that enjoy a luxurious soaking after a long day of hiking, you’re going to love the hot tub.

It’s located in a hot tub cabin with large windows so you can have unobstructed views of Geronimo Creek while soaking your worries away.

However, if you’re not a hot tub type person, there’s plenty more to do around the property than just soaking in a hot tub.

Fishing in the stocked pond.

If you love to fish, then the stocked fishing pond is a must-visit! It’s regularly stocked with plenty of perch, trout, and bass, so you can catch a meal every time.

Additionally, the creek is also home to plenty of other species like catfish, bluegill, carp, and sunfish too.

Swimming in the beautiful Geronimo Creek.

They wouldn’t call it the Geronimo Creek Retreat unless there was swimming and paddle boarding, and boy is there!

Geronimo Creek is crystal clear water with various depths so everyone can have a good time.

The Geronimo Creek Retreat provides guests with complimentary kayaks, paddle boards, and rope swings, so they can enjoy outdoor activities or relax in the comfort of the retreat.

It’s also surrounded by lush greenery, making it the perfect place to escape to for some peace and quiet while taking in nature.

Rainy days in the game room.

Of course, you’d love to spend your vacation lounging in the Geronimo Creek, but sometimes the rain gets the best of us. For days like that, they have a game room complete with a ping pong table, a pool table, board games, card games, and more.

Whether you’re a competitive game player or just want to pass the time on a rainy day, they have something for everyone!

Nearby eats and adventures.

Honestly, we found that there’s plenty to do at the Geronimo Creek Retreat, but don’t forget to explore the nearby sights and eats!

Just a 15-minute drive away, you’ll find plenty of fun activities like rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, and fishing.

And if you’re looking for something to eat after a long day of adventure in nature, there are also plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby.

ZDT’s Amusement Park

ZDT’s Amusement Park offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy.

With twelve attractions in total, three of which are water rides, families can explore and have fun. The park also features an arcade with video games, giving kids a chance to challenge each other in friendly competition.

On top of all this, ZDT’s has plenty of food and beverage options for everyone to enjoy.

The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country

One of our favorite places to visit when we’re in this part of Texas is the Heritage Museum. It’s just north of New Braunfels and a short drive from Geronimo Creek Retreat.

The Heritage Museum of the Texas Hill Country is a multi-acre layout preserving over 200 dinosaur footprints, 28 trackways, and more from the early Cretaceous period in the upper Glen Rose Formation. Guests can explore hiking trails, dig for fossils, and much more!

How Guests rate Geronimo Creek Retreat.

While we loved our stay at the Geronimo Creek Retreat, we still have to say that the reviews speak for themselves.

What’s the difference between Geronimo Creek and Son Geronimo?

Honestly, we don’t know. When we stayed there we should’ve asked if there’s any relation between the two. The two resorts are fairly similar between the waterside cabins, basketball court, and other amenities. However, Son Geronimo has Son’s Island which looks pretty fun!

We recommend you book your vacation today.

If there’s one downside to the Geronimo Creek Retreat is that it books up fast. For the best available rates and dates, we recommend you book your stay as soon as possible. For our trip, we had to book around 3 months out to get a spot, but that might have changed.
