The Carolina Pines RV Resort is hands down one of our favorite places to go. Actually, they recently renamed themselves Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach, which is fine by us as Sun Outdoors has some of the best RV parks weโ€™ve ever been to. Weโ€™ve stayed at Jellystone Park, Larkspur, CO, and theyโ€™re also a Sun Outdoor park. So, you know this place is going to be good.

Since we stayed at the park, we figured weโ€™d give you the most comprehensive and thorough review of Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. From the indoor pool to the yoga studio and everything in between, we think youโ€™ll love it there.

Location and accessibility of Carolina Pines.

Nestled in the heart of South Carolina, the beloved Carolina Pines RV Resort is a haven for travelers seeking relaxation and adventure. Itโ€™s situated just off Highway 90, a few miles south of Conway and just a short drive from the bustling cityscape of Myrtle Beach. The location offers an idyllic blend of tranquility and convenience thatโ€™s hard to beat.

Getting there is a breeze. If youโ€™re coming from the north, take the US-501 S route, and if youโ€™re approaching from the south, the US-17 N route is your best bet. Once youโ€™re on Hwy 90, watch for the signboard pointing towards the resort. Itโ€™s impossible to miss. For those relying on GPS, punch in the address: 5800 SC-90, Conway, SC 29526, and let modern technology guide you to their doorstep.

The accessibility of Carolina Pines RV Resort is one of its many advantages. Theyโ€™re a stoneโ€™s throw away from some of the regionโ€™s top attractions. Whether youโ€™re looking to soak up the sun on the pristine shores of Myrtle Beach or explore the charming, historic town of Conway, our convenient location ensures youโ€™re always close from where youโ€™d like to be. As they say, at Carolina Pines, youโ€™re at the center of it all!

Accommodations and RV sites.

If youโ€™ve ever stayed in any Sun communities, then you know their accommodations are epic. The Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach cottages and RV sites are no exception.

Cottage rentals.

The luxury cottage rentals are simply amazing with their rooftop terrace.

At Carolina Pines, theyโ€™ve truly outdone themselves when it comes to their cottage rental accommodations. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of nature, each cabin exudes a unique charm that effortlessly blends modern comfort with rustic elegance. Theyโ€™ve got you covered, from cozy one-bedroom cabins, perfect for romantic getaways, to spacious family cabins that can comfortably house up to eight guests. Each Carolina cottage studio is well-appointed with all the amenities youโ€™d expect โ€“ full kitchens, private bathrooms, comfortable bedding, and even outdoor picnic areas.

Youโ€™ll love waking up to the sound of chirping birds, sipping your morning coffee on the porch, and soaking in the tranquility of the surrounding woods.

Spacious RV sites.

Spacious RV Sites and Palm Trees at Carolina Pines RV Resort
Carolina Pinesโ€™ elite RV sites are spacious and well-maintained. Theyโ€™re extremely welcoming.

Youโ€™ll appreciate their well-maintained elite RV sites if youโ€™re more of a road warrior with an RV. After all, it is an RV park.

The Carolina Pines RV Resort offers a variety of sites to suit every type of rig, from Class A motorhomes to fifth wheels and everything in between. Each site has full hookups (water, sewer, and 50/30 amp electric), concrete pads, and even cable TV and Wi-Fi for those who like to stay connected. We didnโ€™t spend too much time in the camper (or even at our RV site for that matter), but you might be different.

With easy access to clean bathhouses, laundry facilities, and a dedicated dog park for your furry friends, theyโ€™ve thought of everything to make your stay as convenient and enjoyable as possible. Plus, the panoramic views of the Carolina Pines add to these sitesโ€™ overall charm, making them a perfect home away from home.

Facilities and services at Carolina Pines RV Resort.

Sure, the accommodations are great, but everyone really comes to the park for the refreshing vacation resort experience. This is, in the end, the ultimate Myrtle Beach getaway.

Carolina Splash Water Park & pools.

Lazy River at Carolina Pines RV Resort
One of the best things about Carolina Pines is the lazy river!

One of the highlights of Carolina Pines RV Resort is their incredible water park.

Itโ€™s not just a pool โ€” it is a fun-filled aquatic adventure, complete with thrilling slides for the older kids and a splash pad for the little ones.

If youโ€™re looking for something more relaxing, they also have a tranquil adult pool and hot tub where you can unwind and soak up the Carolina sun. We spent most of our time there, but for those with kiddos youโ€™ll probably want the Carolina Splash Water Park.

Their pools are meticulously maintained and staffed by friendly, professional lifeguards.

Clubhouse.

Not everyone wants to join the beach club and stay in the sun all day. Sometimes the South Carolina heat is just too much. Fortunately, their impressive clubhouse is the heart of their community at Carolina Pines. Itโ€™s a place where you can mingle with fellow guests, participate in various activities, or simply relax with a good book.

Theyโ€™ve equipped it with a state-of-the-art fitness center, yoga studio, a mini bowling alley, and even Red Fox Arcade for the kids. The clubhouse also hosts events like movie nights, potluck dinners, and craft sessions that foster a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed the community spirit it brings to Carolina Pines RV Resort.

Additional facilities & services.

Night Time Dip in one of the Several Hot Tubs
Take a night-time dip in one of the many hot tubs. If you canโ€™t tell, we loved hanging out in the water.

From the indoor pool to the hot tubs, we think youโ€™ll enjoy incredible resort activities and facilities when you stay at Carolina Pines. But their attention to detail is what really elevated our stay.

Theyโ€™ve got you covered from their on-site restaurant serving delicious Southern cuisine to their well-stocked general store for all your camping essentials. They also offer a shuttle service to Myrtle Beach so that you can explore the local attractions without the hassle of driving. And letโ€™s not forget about their dedicated dog parks โ€“ because Carolina Pines treats your four-legged friends as family too!

There are so many amenities that we canโ€™t list them all, but you get the idea. This is not your typical RV park. Carolina Pines is an oasis of relaxation, adventure, and hospitality all rolled into one โ€“ the perfect place to enjoy a relaxed getaway.

Camping and eating go hand in hand; fortunately, thereโ€™s no shortage of unique places to eat near Carolina Pines RV Resort. Whether youโ€™re in the mood for a quick bite, a sit-down meal, some sweet treats, or even takeout, thereโ€™s something to satisfy every craving.

Onsite dining at the RV resort.

Food is a crucial part of any vacation experience. Thatโ€™s why they offer fantastic onsite dining options to suit every palate. Their Lowcountry Landing-Carolina Bistro serves delicious Southern cuisine in a casual, relaxing atmosphere.

Every dish is prepared with local ingredients, from hearty breakfasts to start your day right to sizzling steaks and fresh seafood for dinner. If youโ€™re looking for a quick bite or a refreshing drink, head over to our poolside cabana, where you can enjoy sandwiches, salads, and cocktails without leaving the comfort of your sun lounger. We would often grab local fare poolside or break out sandwiches at our RV siteโ€™s picnic table.

Offsite dining in North Myrtle Beach.

If you fancy exploring the local dining scene, thereโ€™s a wealth of options just a short drive away. Myrtle Beach, accessible via its convenient shuttle service, is teeming with restaurants offering everything from gourmet cuisine to family-friendly fare.

Youโ€™ll find it all in Myrtle Beach, whether youโ€™re craving classic American burgers, authentic Italian pasta, fresh sushi, or delectable seafood straight from the Atlantic. Pier at Myrtle Beach State Park
You definitely need to take a stroll on the pier at Myrtle Beach State Park.

One of our favorite places to visit during our stay was the nearby Myrtle Beach State Park. Itโ€™s an excellent place for fun in the sun, whether youโ€™re a nature enthusiast or just looking for an outdoor activity with your family.

The park offers miles of beautiful beaches and scenic trails, perfect for biking or taking a stroll. We often spent afternoons here, exploring its diverse habitat and spotting various wildlife. Weโ€™re not from the area, so we love seeing the birds and other creatures that call this park home.

Broadway at the Beach.

Broadway at the Beach is another must-visit destination in the Myrtle Beach area. Itโ€™s a great place to spend an afternoon with your family, offering plenty of shopping, dining, and entertainment options.

If you donโ€™t know what youโ€™re after, Broadway at the Beach is a great place to start.

WonderWorks Myrtle Beach.

Another fun-filled spot for families is WonderWorks Myrtle Beach, an interactive science museum and amusement park. They have more than 100 engaging exhibits to explore, a laser tag arena, and a ropes course.

For us, WonderWorks was the perfect combination of education and entertainment โ€“ itโ€™s something kids and adults can enjoy together! It also makes for a great day trip from Carolina Pines RV Resort since itโ€™s only about 15 minutes away.

Hollywood Wax Museum.

Hollywood Wax Museum in Myrtle Beach
The Hollywood Wax Museum is worth stopping at. There are a lot of cool things to see inside.

For a unique experience, check out the Hollywood Wax Museum. It features realistic replicas of your favorite movie stars and celebrities. We were impressed with the attention to detail โ€“ each sculpture was made with careful precision.

Itโ€™s the perfect place for photo ops or an exciting way to spend an hour or two in Myrtle Beach. Plus, you get access to other attractions with your ticket, so itโ€™s worth a visit.

SkyWheel Myrtle Beach.

Another great spot for an afternoon in Myrtle Beach is the iconic SkyWheel, one of the worldโ€™s tallest Ferris wheels! The top view is breathtaking โ€“ you can see for miles and miles! Itโ€™s the perfect place to take in the sights and soak up the Carolina sunshine.

If youโ€™re looking for some fun after dark, SkyWheel offers a light show every evening. Itโ€™s a great way to end your day in Myrtle Beach!

Plantation River Tours and Nature Walk.

If you want something more relaxed, check out the Plantation River Tours and Nature Walk. Itโ€™s a great way to explore the nearby creeks and marshlands while getting close to native wildlife.

The tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly โ€“ we learned so much about the local history and ecology of the area. Youโ€™ll learn more about Carolina Pinesโ€™ unique position in this corner of the world, and you may even spot some dolphins!

Other reviews of Carolina Pines RV Resort.

We had such an incredible stay at Carolina Pines that we decided to see what other people thought. Of course, we want to get a holistic perspective. We scoured the web and found some fantastic reviews, with many guests praising the friendly staff, impeccable facilities, and great amenities.

Book your stay at Carolina Pines RV Resort (aka Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach).

Weโ€™ll always call it Carolina Pines RV Resort, but formally, itโ€™s known as Sun Outdoors Myrtle Beach. Either way, we recommend booking your stay as soon as you can. They stay fairly busy all year round, so donโ€™t miss out on your chance to make some fantastic memories.

Between the fire pit at each RV site and the resort amenities, itโ€™s as close as possible to a perfect family vacation.

Our favorite part, though? The hospitality of the staff. From the moment we checked in to our last minute at the water park, they were friendly and helpful โ€“ always willing to give recommendations or answer questions.

Weโ€™re already looking forward to our next stay at Carolina Pines RV Resort! We canโ€™t wait to explore the area more and enjoy its attractions.
