When it comes to relaxing outdoors and enjoying nature, having a great chair can make all the difference. A camping chair with a footrest is the perfect accessory for any outdoor activity, whether youโ€™re camping, hiking, or just having a barbecue on the beach.

Weโ€™ve tried out 12 different camping chairs and picked the five best chairs out of the group.

Why We Rate and Review Products

We believe itโ€™s important to provide our readers with honest and informative reviews of products. We understand that purchasing a new piece of equipment can be overwhelming, especially when so many options are available.

Thatโ€™s why weโ€™ve taken the time to research and test out some of the best camping chairs with footrests on the market.

We aim to help you find the perfect chair for your next outdoor adventure. Not only that, we want to help you find the best place to buy camping chairs as well.

Criteria We Used for the Perfect Camp Chair

When reviewing camping chairs with footrests, we looked at several criteria to determine which chairs were worth purchasing. After all, we wanted to have a specific methodology for testing out and trying each camping chair. This allows us to have an unbiased view of each product and ensure our reviews are accurate.

Here are the criteria we used when trying out each camping chairโ€”

Comfort.

Comfort is key when it comes to any seat, but especially when youโ€™re spending long periods of time outdoors.

The best camping chairs with footrests should provide ample support for your back and neck while also allowing you to stretch out your legs and feet. These could include a rocking chair, camp chairs with a padded seat, and other comfort-related features.

Seriously, why would you buy a camping chair that isnโ€™t comfortable? Thatโ€™s why this is our first area we looked at.

Durability

Camping chairs need to be able to withstand harsh weather conditions and rough terrain. The best camping chairs with footrests should be made from high-quality materials that are built to last.

If youโ€™ve ever had a seat that lasted more than one season of outdoor activities, then congratulations. They donโ€™t typically stand up to the wear and tear of constantly being used outdoors.

Portability.

One of the biggest advantages of a camping chair is its portability. The best camping chairs with footrests should be lightweight and easy to carry so that you can take them wherever you go. Is the portable camping chair lightweight? Does it have backpack straps? These are the things we want to see when trying out a chair.

When youโ€™re heading out camping, you already have enough to carry with you โ€” your tent, sleeping bags, grill, food, and more โ€” the last thing you want is a chair you canโ€™t lug around.

Price.

Price is always an important factor when making a purchase. The best camping chairs with footrests should offer a good balance between price and quality.

Camping is already a fairly expensive activity once you add up all the supplies you need, so why not save a little money by getting a good-quality chair at an affordable price?

The Best Camping Chairs with a Built-in Footrest

After researching and testing several different models, weโ€™ve narrowed down our list of the best camping chairs with footrests.

Suntime Adjustable Reclining Lounge Mesh Chair

Suntime Adjustable Reclining Lounge Mesh Chair

Let me start by saying that I absolutely love the Suntime Adjustable Reclining Lounge Mesh Chair! This chair is a perfect combination of comfort, durability, and portability. I have used it for several outdoor activities, including camping, picnics, and beach outings, and it has never disappointed me.

Letโ€™s talk about comfort. The adjustable design of the back provides excellent support for your back and can recline from 90 degrees to 130 degrees according to your needs. Additionally, the removable footrest can extend up to 24.4 inches, offering perfect leg rest. The soft and breathable sponge pillow and cotton cushion provide extra comfort during leisure time.

The chair is extremely durable as it is made of high-quality polyester combined with breathable mesh material on its back, keeping you cool in hot weather. The heavy-duty steel frame construction with a wear-resistant and skid-proof bottom ensures up to 200 lbsโ€™ load capacity.

Moreover, this chair comes with a handy storage mesh pocket that hangs from the side, which provides helpful space for storing your belongings like your cell phone, kindle, or magazines while you relax in your chair. There is also a cup holder on the armrest so you can enjoy bottled drinks anytime.

This Suntime chair is very portable, with a shoulder strap carry bag for easy transport and easy to store. With its lightweight design (12.6 lbs) and easy setup process, you can take it anywhere you want without any hassle.

HappyGrill Hammock Camping Chair

HappyGrill Hammock Camping Chair

Next on our list is the HappyGrill Hammock Camping Chair, and I must say, I was impressed! Comfort is key when it comes to camping chairs, and this chair delivers. The mesh design in the middle of the seat provides great air ventilation, so you wonโ€™t feel like youโ€™re sticking to your chair on a hot day. Plus, the adjustable straps on either side of the seat allow you to customize the angle for maximum relaxation. And letโ€™s not forget about the comfortable head pillow that adds an extra level of relaxation.

One feature that really stood out to me was the detachable and retractable footrest. This is perfect for when you want to kick back and relax after a long hike or just enjoy some downtime around camp. Depending on your preference, you can easily adjust the distance between the footrest and chair from 25โ€ to 40โ€. And if you donโ€™t want to use it at all, simply detach it!

When it comes to portability, this chair is a winner. It folds up easily into a compact size and comes with a convenient carrying bag. It weighs around 14 lbs, which isnโ€™t too heavy considering how sturdy it feels when set up. Whether youโ€™re going camping, fishing, or having a picnic, this chair will be your trusty companion.

Durability is also important regarding camping gear, and the HappyGrill Hammock Camping Chair doesnโ€™t disappoint here, either. The PVC polyester fabric used in the sitting area is weatherproof and tear-resistant for long-lasting use. The heavy-duty metal frame can hold up to 330 lbs, so even those with larger frames can comfortably sit in this chair without worry. Plus, the plastic sprayed surface prevents rusting over time.

Fundango Reclining Camping Chair with Foot Rest

Another camping chair we found good deals on is the Fundango Reclining Camping Chair with Foot Rest.

Comfort is key in camping chairs, and this product definitely did not disappoint in that department. The sponge headrest and wide armrest provided a comfortable and relaxing experience from head to foot. Additionally, the breathable mesh material kept me cool even on hot summer days.

One of my favorite features of this chair is its versatility. The detachable footrest allowed me to use it as a daily lounge chair for writing or eating without compromising comfort. The three-position adjustable feature also made it easy for me to find the perfect position for reading, chatting with friends or family, or taking a nap under the trees while appreciating nature.

The convenient design of a built-in cup holder was a nice touch that saved me from standing up frequently for drinks or personal belongings such as phones, books, sun creams, and keys. Itโ€™s also important to note that the chair is durable and sturdy thanks to its high-quality steel frame that supports up to 300 LBS. Plus, its durable 600 D Oxford & PVC fabric ensures long-term use.

Portability is an essential factor when it comes to camping chairs. This one was incredibly easy to collapse into a compact size of 35.8 x 8.2 x7 inches. It only weighs 9.6 lbs making it convenient for outdoor activities such as beach trips, picnics, fishing trips, or watching football games.

HappyBuy Mesh Folding Camp Chair

HappyBuy Mesh Folding Camp Chair

The HappyBuy mesh folding chair is an excellent option for those wanting breathability and comfort. The breathable mesh fabric on the back kept me cool even in hot weather, which is a huge plus. It also prevented unpleasant odors from sticking to the chair after prolonged use.

The thoughtful design of this folding camp chair also stood out to me. The integrated cup holder was a nice touch, and the big storage bag attached to the chair made it easy for me to keep my phone and other gadgets close by when I needed them. Another key feature of this chair is that it has two optional heights, ensuring you can adjust it to your preferred comfort level no matter where you are.

In terms of durability, the HappyBuy Mesh Folding Camp Chair did not disappoint. Itโ€™s built with high-quality steel and metal contact points, making it extremely sturdy and able to withstand up to 330 lbs. This was particularly important for me as I tend to be hard on my camping gear. Despite its heavy-duty build, this chair is still incredibly portable โ€“ weighing in at just 10.9 lbs and coming with a carry bagย for easy transportation. Itโ€™s not the lightest of the chairs weโ€™ve tried, but to put it in perspective, it weighed about half of my tent.

Suntime Oversized Padded Moon Folding Chair

Suntime Oversized Padded Moon Folding Chair

Not the cheapest option of the group, but I have to say, this chair exceeded my expectations in every way. I guess thatโ€™s why Suntime has made our list twice.

Comfort is a top priority for me when it comes to outdoor gear, and this chair came through on that! The oversized moon round saucer shape provides a large area of comfortable seating, while the completely padded moisture-wicking 600D cationic fabric ensures that youโ€™ll stay cool and dry even on hot days. Plus, the removable footrest extending 26 inches is a game-changer โ€“ itย takes relaxation to the next level!

In terms of durability, the Suntime Oversized Padded Moon Folding Chair did not disappoint. The heavy-duty steel and stable construction frame with a wear-resistant and skid-proof bottom ensure up to 250 lbsโ€™ load capacity. This chair is built to last and built for stability, which is particularly important for those who plan on using it frequently or taking it on longer camping trips.

Portability was another key consideration for me when trying out this chair, and I was pleased to find that itโ€™s incredibly easy to carry and set up. It comes with a shoulder strap carry bag that makes transportation a breeze, while its packed size of 35.8 x 7.9 x 7.9 inches means it wonโ€™t take up too much space in your car or RV. Setting it up is quick and straightforward โ€“ you can have it ready in seconds.

Enjoy your next camping trip in pure comfort!

When youโ€™re ready to pull the trigger on your next camping chair, keep these five options in mind. All of them are reliable and comfortable enough to make your outdoor trip enjoyable again.

While we love these chairs, we did come across some others that didnโ€™t quite meet our criteria but were still worth considering. Like the helinox chair, for example. Great portable camping chair for car camping or hiking into the woods, but it doesnโ€™t have a footrest.

We get pretty stingy with our lists and want to ensure everything we review meets our strict criteria.

No matter which one you choose, youโ€™ll be sure to have a great time with friends and family.
