Smokeless fire pits are all the rage these days, and the Breeo is no exception. While there are other major contenders out there like the Solo Stove, none come close to the Breeo Smokeless Fire Pit.
With that, we had to see what all the fuss was about. Therefore, we decided we’d go with the Breeo X Series. This is because we wanted something somewhat portable but still wanted to cook as the fire burns. That’s something some of the other models couldn’t do.
All of that to say, we’ll give you everything you ever wanted to know about this grill, and hopefully, you’ll be able to decide if it’s right for you. Whether you’re looking for your first smokeless fire pit or just looking for a versatile fire pit, we think this Breeo fire pit might be what you’re after.
Ordering the X series smokeless fire pit was easy.
When we ordered the fire pit for our review, we found that there are several places you can buy it from.
While we did end up ordering the smokeless fire pit off of Amazon, you can also purchase it off of the Breeo website, Home Depot, and even Walmart.
All of the prices were generally the same, so we figured Amazon was the easiest and quickest. We figured the quicker it gets to us the faster we can cook!
Unboxing the fire pit.
When our X Series smokeless fire pit arrived, we were eager to get it out of the box and assembled.
The instructions included with the fire pit were very straightforward and easy to follow, which made assembly super fast.
It had all the necessary hardware for assembly and a small bag of wood chips to get us started.
The fire pit itself is made from high-grade cold rolled steel which makes it very durable and long-lasting.
It also has an adjustable rubber foot that can be adjusted to level the fire pit on uneven surfaces.
Once set up, adding fuel was also a breeze; all you need is some regular charcoal briquettes, fire wood, or pellets, throw them in the base of the fire pit, and get the fire started.
It’s really smokeless!
One of the best things about the Breeo fire pit is that it lives up to its name: it’s a wood fire pit that is completely smokeless!
We were amazed at how little smoke was produced, even when we added too much wood, and the fire got a bit out of control. After all, we wanted to put it through a stress test, and it handled it with ease.
This makes using it a lot more pleasurable since you’re not breathing in any harmful smoke or worrying about setting off smoke detectors.
A traditional fire pit or a permanent fire pit burning wood like that would have filled the area with a toxic cloud of smoke, but with the Breeo X Series, there was barely any.
Whether camping or hanging out in the backyard, and you want to enjoy yourself with a cold beverage and not worry about the smoke output, go ahead and throw on some more wood or wood pellets. Because this fire pit is up to the task.
How the fire pit works.
Unlike a traditional campfire or permanent fire pit, the Breeo is ventilated in a way that draws air from the base of the fire ring. As that air moves upward between the two walls, the fire heats the air; then, the hot air is pushed through the vent holes at the top. This airstream then fuels a secondary burn that helps keep the fire going while producing less smoke.
We would say its revolutionary, but honestly, there are plenty of other fire pits on the market that does the same thing.
With that, how does this fire pit stand out from the rest?
Stacking up to other fire pits.
So how does the Breeo X Series smokeless fire pit stack up to other fire pits on the market?
In our opinion, it is by far one of the best options for those looking for an easy-to-set-up smokeless fire pit. It not only looks better than other smokeless fire pits, but it also includes a range of cooking accessories some of the other brands can’t boast.
This is what we feel sets it apart from the other fire pits.
We compared the Breeo and the Solo Stove in a head-to-head matchup and the Breeo out-performed the Solo Stove with no problem. Between the elegant look and feel to the grilling accessories that you can get with it, it blows the Solo Stove Bonfire out of the water. Sure, the Solo Stove has a few backyard accessories, but you’re very limited in what you can get with it.
For those that want a wood fire with all the cooking capabilities that a grill offers, the Breeo fire pit is the one you’ll want.
What customers think about the X Series smokeless fire pit.
Of course, nothing compares to getting your hands on the fire pit as we did, but you also have to consider what customers think of it too.
Judging by the reviews, customer satisfaction is very high with this product, as many are praising its smokeless capability and construction quality.
We’ve also seen people give their opinion on how much better-grilled food tastes from the cooking grill that can be purchased for this fire pit.
Over on Amazon, the Breeo X Series 24 has 4.7 stars. That is right up there with some of the more prominent names. For example, the Solo Stove Bonfire has 4.7 stars as well. So it’s clear that the Breeo is a contender in the smokeless fire pit market.
The verdict on the Breeo fire pits.
If you want to burn some wood and only enjoy the flames and not the smoke, then the Breeo is for you. We absolutely love our 24″ X Series and won’t be going to any other brands any time soon.
Whether you’re heading out with the family on a camping trip or you like warm and cozy fires in your backyard on a cool fall night, you can’t go wrong with this metal fire pit.
Of course, there are a few drawbacks, as we noted. But overall, the Breeo offers the best bang for your buck when it comes to burning the logs and foregoing the smoke.
Breeo X Series Fire Pit FAQ
We get a lot of questions about the Breeo X Series smokeless fire pits. We get a lot about the Y Series fire pit as well. So we’ve compiled a few of the most common ones here to help you out.
If you have any other questions about the Breeo X Series Smokeless Fire Pit, please feel free to contact us. We’ll be happy to answer.
Can you roast marshmallows over the fire pit?
Roasting marshmallows is definitely possible with the Breeo X Series smokeless fire pit! The included cooking grill makes it easy to roast marshmallows (or other treats) over the flame.
Can the Breeo sit on grass or a wood deck?
That depends. The Y Series has legs so it can definitely be used in the grass or on a wood deck. However, the X Series would need a stand of some sort before burning wood on your deck. If you want to take safety to the next level, you’ll also want to get the spark screen as well.
What is the Breeo made out of?
The Breeo is made out of stainless steel and laser-cut 3/16” mild carbon steel. Although you can get the corten steel model. The corten steel gives the fire ring a rusted look. Which, if that’s what you’re going for, can make your backyard look amazing. The stainless steel is more popular, however.
What kind of fuel does the Breeo use?
You can use either wood (i.e., oak, pine, etc.) or wood pellets. Either will work just fine. No propane tank is required, just good ol’ natural wood.
What is the difference between the X Series and Y Series fire pit?
The primary difference between the two series is that the Y Series is designed with portability in mind. The X Series is more of a permanent fire pit. Yes, it’s portable, but not as portable.
The Y Series has built-in adjustable legs and handles whereas the X Series does not.
This also means that the Y Series can be used on a wood deck right out of the box. The X Series would need a stand or platform to be used on a wooden deck. You wouldn’t want the grill burning so close to the deck.
Is Solo or Breeo better?
That’s up to you, but we think the Breeo is a better buy. It has a sleek, modern look to it and comes with a range of cooking accessories that the Solo Stove doesn’t offer. Plus, you can get the corten steel version which adds an extra layer of elegance.
How does Breeo smokeless fire pit work?
The double wall construction of the Breeo fire pits is what makes it smokeless. As the hot air rises between the walls, the updraft of air allows fuel to burn hotter and more efficiently. It does this without releasing any harmful smoke into the air. The double wall also helps to radiate heat outwards for a warmer experience, even on those cooler summer nights.
As the heated oxygen mixes with the flames as it comes out the top, it creates a secondary combustion which keeps the smoke levels down. This is an efficient burn and a major upgrade over traditional fires. No need to fight tears from the smoke and no more smoky smelling clothes.
Can Breeo be left outside?
Whether you have the stainless steel model or the corten steel model, both can be left outside. You won’t have to worry about rusting or damage.
However, we do recommend using the Breeo fire pit cover to keep it nice and clean.
Are smokeless fire pits worth it?
To be completely honest, knowing what I know now about these smokeless fire pits, I would pay double for one. It’s such a nice feeling to be able to sit around the fire to enjoy the beautiful flames without worrying about smoke in your face. Plus, since you don’t need a propane tank it’s much more convenient.
Overall, I would say that investing in a smokeless fire pit is definitely worth it. So if you’re still debating on getting one, go for it.
If you’re more of the adventurous type and always on the go, then go for the Y Series fire pit. However, if you’re more of a stationary type and looking for a backyard grill, then the X Series fire pit might be for you.
